Connectivity and Pricing
Existing cross connects, cabling and duct access
Your existing cross connect and cabling will continue to be billed at the current effective rates for the duration of your agreement. At renewal, standard pricing will apply.
Existing cross connects between Equinix and former BT areas
Some connections run between sections previously managed by BT and Equinix. Where previous best practices created two segments, we will consolidate these into a single connection (one A‑side and Z‑side).
The updated charge will be a single fee equal to the combined charges of the two previous segments.
Please contact your account manager with any questions or concerns.
Undocumented connections
Any active connections that were not documented in a service order or contract will be classified as Custom Cable Connections if we encounter them. These connections are not covered by the Service Level Agreement (SLA). If you have undocumented connections, please contact you account manager to review and update your records.
Other offerings
Metro connectivity
Equinix can provide campus connectivity between DB1 and other Dublin sites. Refer to the Metro Connect documentation for service details.
Innerduct
Innerduct enables customers to pull bulk fibre into the IBX from their local fibre network. Please refer to the Innerduct documentation for service details.
New cross connects
We are aligning cross connect ordering and installation with global standards to ensure a consistent, secure experience across our infrastructure. An Equinix Cross Connect is a direct, (passive) physical connection between two parties within an Equinix IBX data centre for low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnection.

Cable types and ordering
Single-mode fibre (SMF) is the global standard for Equinix Cross Connects. Copper or other fibre types are considered non-standard. If you plan to use a customer-provided media, submit a Custom Cable Connection request via your account manager. Pricing and delivery times for non-standard options may vary.
Installation process
All cross connect installations are performed by the Equinix Operations team to ensure safety and consistency in shared spaces. Equinix uses patch panels to deliver cross connects within customer cabinets or cages. If patch panels are missing, we will install them during your first cross connect order. The first cross connect order from a cabinet requires the ordering of a patch panel, which will be prewired to the MMR. The number of ports is subject to your order. Please contact your account manager. Equinix will provide a commitment date and deliver against it.
Cabling within private cages
Customers with private cages may install cabling only within their own cages. Equinix (site) cabling infrastructure is not available. If you need additional trays or fibre ducts, Equinix can install them upon request.
Intra customer cross connects (ICCC)
A one-time installation fee applies for cross connects between cabinets owned by the same customer within the same IBX data centre. This applies only to new orders. For further details, please review the terms of your contract or contact your account manager.
Cross connect termination
Termination requires a Termination Order. Once processed, the cross connect will be removed and a termination fee will apply. Refer to the documentation on placing termination orders in ECP.
