Azure ExpressRoute Region Question for Network Edge

When connecting more ExpressRoute circuits into our Equinix Network Edge, does the region of the Azure ExpressRoute matter?

For example, if we have an existing ExpressRoute in Azure CentralUS peered with Equinix Network Edge in Chicago and wanted to add another ExpressRoute out of Azure West. Can it also be peered with our existing Network Edge Cisco 8000Vs in Chicago?

The region does not matter as long as it’s in the same geopolitical region. (Unless you’re using ExpressRoute Premium Add-on. With the premium add-on you can connect to all other geopolitical regions with the exception of China and national clouds.)

As for using the same access devices, in this case Network Edge Cisco Catalyst 8000Vs, to access different regions this is possible. Just order the new ExpressRoute and connect it to your existing routers.
