AWS DirectConnect via Equinix Fabric is a Hosted connection. This means it can only be associated with one VIF/VPC on AWS side. If you need to carry multiple VLANs to multiple VIFs/VPCs across between AWS and your onprem network, here are a few options:
  • Create many VCs / Hosted connections across Equinix Fabric
  • Deploy a Transit VPC where traffic from multiple VPCs will be mixed before being routed via a single Hosted connection
  • Use a Dedicated Connection (physical cross connect to AWS rack) and not a Hosted Connection (via Equinix Fabric)
