Equinix is pleased to announce the publication of a new commissioned Forrester Consulting Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) of Equinix Networking Solutions. The study examines the potential business value organizations can realize by leveraging Equinix Networking Solutions, including Equinix Fabric®, Fabric Cloud Router, and Network Edge.

Based on interviews with customers using Equinix Networking Solutions, Forrester found that a composite organization achieved a 190% return on investment (ROI), $2.1 million net present value (NPV), and $3.1 million in risk-adjusted present value benefits over three years.

Why it Matters

As cloud adoption accelerates and AI workloads become increasingly distributed across clouds, enterprise environments, partners, and sovereign regions, organizations face growing networking complexity. Traditional networking approaches built around dedicated circuits, physical infrastructure, and lengthy provisioning cycles often struggle to deliver the agility, scalability, and operational flexibility businesses need today.

As organizations evaluate network modernization initiatives, demonstrating business value and return on investment remains a key consideration. The study highlights how Equinix Networking Solutions help organizations simplify connectivity across cloud providers, partners, AI platforms, and enterprise environments through a software-defined networking model. The study also notes that Equinix Networking solutions can provide a foundation for future AI, distributed infrastructure, and network modernization initiatives.

Key Findings

The study identified several quantified benefits for the composite organization over a three-year period.

  • $1.5 million in savings through reduced dependence on traditional physical networking infrastructure by adopting software-defined connectivity
  • $1.1 million in avoided excess capacity costs through dynamic bandwidth scaling that aligns network capacity with actual business demand
  • $360,000 in infrastructure deployment savings through accelerated network provisioning and reduced administrative effort
  • 77% reduction in network and cloud egress costs by leveraging private traffic exchange instead of public internet routing

In addition to the quantified results, customers cited improved agility, architectural flexibility, resiliency, lower latency, and simplified connectivity across cloud and partner ecosystems as key business benefits.

About the Study

To evaluate the impact of Equinix Networking Solutions, Forrester interviewed four networking and infrastructure leaders across financial services, aerospace, and related industries. The findings were combined into a composite organization representing a global enterprise with $5 billion in annual revenue and 10,000 employees operating across North America and Europe.
