Equinix, Inc., the world's digital infrastructure company®, and PGIM Real Estate, the real estate investment and financing arm of PGIM, Prudential Financial's global asset management business, today announced the entry into a $600 million joint venture to develop and operate the first xScale data center in the U.S., located in the Silicon Valley region of CALIFORNIA. The two-story facility, known as SV12x, will be built in two phases and is expected to provide more than 28 megawatts (MW) of power capacity at full build out. SV12x is located at Equinix's Great Oaks data center campus in San Jose, California alongside four existing Equinix International Business ExchangeTM (IBX®) data centers. The facility's first phase is scheduled to be completed in Q2 2024. Read the press release announcement.    

Equinix providers for Terraform and Pulumi benefit from several updates to infrastructure products Network Edge and Fabric.  Specify NE project ID via IAC Providers  While using said IaC providers to create Network Edge resources (Device, DLG, ACL, SSH Public key), the optional field "project ID" can be specified to prevent use of the default project and ensure correct billing. Add a Single, Diverse NE Device via IAC Providers   Previously, it was difficult to simply add a diverse device in a high availability architecture unless users destroyed the current device and chose a dual deployment option. With the v0.4 additions of VRF and Gateway features, and Interconnection present in v0.3, this release of the Equinix Ansible Collection enables Fabric VC (metal-billed) use-cases with BGP discovery of private IP pools over Metal VLANs.  This allows users to manage their Metal network configurations via the Ansible integration with greater ease. In future releases, we'll expand the Ansible Collection to support dedicated interconnections.   If you're interested in using Ansible to manage your infrastructure deployments, let us know!

As part of our continued efforts to reduce energy costs and help address climate change, Equinix has deployed a 1MW rooftop solar system at our ME1 International Business Exchange® (IBX®) data center in Melbourne, Australia. This is not only one of Equinix’s largest solar PV systems globally, but one of the largest at any data center in Australia. This, along with previous deployments in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney (BR1, CA1, SY7, ME2, SY9X, SY2 and SY4), provides a total of approximately 1.8MW of clean energy to local power grids in Australia. In this video, we'll cover how to access a Fortigate Firewall via the Webgui. We'll start in the Device Details section of your provisioned firewall and walk through how to enable http permissions on the device. We'll open PuTTY to check the permissions on the port and cover what happens when we add the http and how to re-add ssh, ping, and fgfm permissions. We'll use the Console Tool in the Device Details page and utilize the temporary password provided by Equinix which will allow us to redo the permission statement for the port. We'll confirm that we've reestablished SSH access via PuTTY and then attempt to access the Webgui now that http has been enabled.
