The Equinix PA10 International Business Exchange™ (IBX®) is part of our Saint-Denis campus and is our 10th data center in Paris.  It provides global and local business and a partner alike with the ability to connect directly and securely to the world digital economy.  PA10 was recently featured in a collaboration with The B1M, the world largest video channel for construction focusing on the how we’re using heat export to help with everything from growing strawberries and tomatoes in a rooftop greenhouse to heating a swimming pool being used in the upcoming Paris Summer Olympics. In this video, David Flanagan, a.k.a. Rawkode, does a deep dive on the Equinix GO SDK. David explores how to leverage webhooks and APIs with the Equinix SDK to build pipelines for remediation, automation, and notifications. We'll demonstrate how to send GET requests, showing the requests made and their results. This approach allows for dynamic capacity checks based on environment variables, integrated seamlessly with your infrastructure. This was a brief yet insightful introduction to the Equinix SDK. In this video, we'll show you how to connect a Fabric Cloud Router to the Google Cloud Platform. We begin with creating a connection from a Fabric Cloud Router to Google Cloud Platform using our Quick Connect feature. After the connection is submitted, we'll configure BGP in Google Cloud. We'll add the Peer ASNs for both connections and take the IP addresses provided by Google. Then we return to the Equinix portal to configure BGP on the Fabric Cloud Router. We use the Peer IP addresses obtained from GCP and apply these changes to the primary and secondary connections. Then we'll confirm that the routes are active. We'll head to the Cloud Router Inventory and view the Active Routes. Finally, we view the Route Tables on both the AWS and Azure sides of this connection to confirm that we have interconnectivity between three cloud environments using Fabric Cloud Router. 

In this video, Steve Martinelli interviews Martin Hickey, a software developer at IBM, about his experience working with open-source projects. Martin explains how he got started in open source and the benefits of collaboration within the community. He also discusses his current work in the field of AI and the potential applications of the technology. Martin shares his experiences speaking at conferences and emphasizes the importance of human interaction in technology. He concludes by highlighting the need to approach AI with caution but also recognizes its potential for positive impact.  

Ed Vielmetti from Equinix and Hannah Aubry from Fastly discuss the similarities between their work and how they address challenges in the open source community. They emphasize the importance of supporting open source projects and communities, as well as the value of collaboration and contribution. They also discuss the concept of financial sustainability for open source projects and the need for organizations to support and give back to these communities. They highlight the importance of communication and asking for help when needed. Overall, they express their passion for open source and the positive impact it has on innovation and collaboration.

Equinix Internet Access (EIA) enhancement to support Network EdgeDesigned to fulfill a range of Internet use cases, Equinix Internet Access can now connect to Network Edge Virtual devices. This gives Network Edge customers the ability to connect to the internet within minutes. Equinix, Inc., the world's digital infrastructure company®, and PGIM Real Estate, the real estate investment and financing arm of PGIM, Prudential Financial's global asset management business, today announced the entry into a $600 million joint venture to develop and operate the first xScale data center in the U.S., located in the Silicon Valley region of CALIFORNIA. The two-story facility, known as SV12x, will be built in two phases and is expected to provide more than 28 megawatts (MW) of power capacity at full build out. SV12x is located at Equinix's Great Oaks data center campus in San Jose, California alongside four existing Equinix International Business ExchangeTM (IBX®) data centers. The facility's first phase is scheduled to be completed in Q2 2024. Read the press release announcement.    

Equinix providers for Terraform and Pulumi benefit from several updates to infrastructure products Network Edge and Fabric.  Specify NE project ID via IAC Providers  While using said IaC providers to create Network Edge resources (Device, DLG, ACL, SSH Public key), the optional field "project ID" can be specified to prevent use of the default project and ensure correct billing. Add a Single, Diverse NE Device via IAC Providers   Previously, it was difficult to simply add a diverse device in a high availability architecture unless users destroyed the current device and chose a dual deployment option. The optional field fixes this by automatically selecting the redundant control plane option for rack and network diversity when adding a single device.  Upgrade Number of Device Cores via IAC Providers  A "core" field has been added to the Update Virtual Device API which

With the v0.4 additions of VRF and Gateway features, and Interconnection present in v0.3, this release of the Equinix Ansible Collection enables Fabric VC (metal-billed) use-cases with BGP discovery of private IP pools over Metal VLANs.  This allows users to manage their Metal network configurations via the Ansible integration with greater ease. In future releases, we'll expand the Ansible Collection to support dedicated interconnections.   If you're interested in using Ansible to manage your infrastructure deployments, let us know!

As part of our continued efforts to reduce energy costs and help address climate change, Equinix has deployed a 1MW rooftop solar system at our ME1 International Business Exchange® (IBX®) data center in Melbourne, Australia. This is not only one of Equinix’s largest solar PV systems globally, but one of the largest at any data center in Australia. This, along with previous deployments in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney (BR1, CA1, SY7, ME2, SY9X, SY2 and SY4), provides a total of approximately 1.8MW of clean energy to local power grids in Australia. In this video, we'll cover how to access a Fortigate Firewall via the Webgui. We'll start in the Device Details section of your provisioned firewall and walk through how to enable http permissions on the device. We'll open PuTTY to check the permissions on the port and cover what happens when we add the http and how to re-add ssh, ping, and fgfm permissions. We'll use the Console Tool in the Device Details page and utilize the temporary password provided by Equinix which will allow us to redo the permission statement for the port. We'll confirm that we've reestablished SSH access via PuTTY and then attempt to access the Webgui now that http has been enabled.
