In honor of Cyber Security Awareness Month, we're sharing a cyber-security themed puzzle that our own Equinix Security Awareness team created for employees (and approved us to share).

METROCUP = COMPUTER – Computers are incredibly helpful (and powerful), as they can accomplish many tasks with just a few clicks. However, use them safely when online. Practice good cyber hygiene and keep antivirus software up to date along with all software patches.
DUFAR = FRAUD – Fraud on the internet includes identity theft, phishing, and hacking, all aimed at stealing money. It's a serious issue that requires careful cybersecurity measures.
IVYCARP = PRIVACY – While privacy online just gets harder, you must maintain it as best you can – for Equinix, yourself and your family. Identity theft occurs when bad guys get your personal information and can result in fraudulent purchases being made in your name. Social media is a big contributor here. Lock down your accounts and only share with people you know and trust.
CYTOSEEMS = ECOSYSTEM – Like a natural ecosystem, a cyber ecosystem is interconnected components working together to form a functioning unit. The difference is that a in cyber ecosystem the components are digital. Equinix is the core, surrounded by vendors and third-party entities. Protecting the cyber ecosystem is crucial, just like protecting the natural one.

"EMMA FAYE” sounds like “MFA”, or Multi-Factor Authentication. MFA adds extra security layers for accessing devices. MFA could be a code texted to you, a biometric scan like a thumbprint, or secret questions only you can answer. This is an extra way to verify your identity and reduce unauthorized access risk.
